“Door Keepers for Christ” True Vine Ushers

Our mission is to usher in the spirit of God and to prepare the congregation to receive the message. Ushers are the forerunners-introducing the Holy Spirit into the Church. They are much like John the Baptist, who was an usher for the forerunner of Christ and introduced Him to a dying world. Ushers want to win every person who
comes through the door with the pleasant smile and a warm welcome. The Levites were called watchmen and doorkeepers. They were appointed to direct the Tabernacle of Testimony. In Numbers 3:12 God said, “Therefore the Levites shall be mine”. The Church usher is claimed by our Lord as His own. At True Vine, children are taught how to be good disciples of Christ. On the second Sunday of each month the youth serve as the ushers, deacons and announcing clerk. Monthly activities are designed to teach children how to live a Christian life and still have fun. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. This Outreach Ministry provides support to the students of Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in West Oakland. We establish relationships to assist families in reaching their educational goals for their children. It has been well documented that children perform better academically if they have a proper meal before going to school. We are proud to say our Outreach Ministry gathers donations and prepares lunch bags at every Friday at 6:00 am at the Institute and hand deliver over 50 bags to the children at Martin Luther Kind Jr. Middle School
for them to take home. During the Holidays we include additional items such as turkeys and gifts for the families. This Ministry survives solely on donations, donations are accepted M-F, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. To participate in the Ministry please call (510) 208-4565.
Youth Ministry

Our goal is to assist young people to build real and lasting relationships with Jesus Christ and to help them find their place in the Church and in the world. We strive to evangelise, educate, inspire, encourage and support all the youth of The Vine. Please join us on: The 2nd Sunday of each month for Youth Sunday and once a quarter for our Get CRUNK Friday where it's "Our Program" with "Our Flava".
Witnessing Ministry

At home on your job, or just walking down the street. Every encounter is an opportunity to be a witness. Witnessing is the primary work of the church. Jesus said, “...and ye shall be my witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Sumaria and unto the uttermost parts of the earth (Acts 1:8). Every 4th Saturday at 10am at the True Vine Bible Institute 896 Isabella Street in Oakland
Single Parents Ministry

Here at True Vine Ministries, we want single parent families to see themselves as whole families. The Single Parent Ministry exists to provide resources and develop a support group of single parents and their children who, together, grow more like Jesus. We want to meet the spiritual, emotional and supportive needs of single parent families and to encourage spiritual wholeness, which can only be found through Jesus. The reality of raising children today is that parents become overwhelmed, exhausted and stressed and we get that at True Vine. Please use these resources, which will grow and expand over the months ahead. See if they work for you and your family and maybe, just maybe, you’ll be able to enjoy a little bit more the greatest, albeit toughest, job on the planet – being a parent!
Annual Block Party
True Vine Ministries has hosted an Annual Block Party / Health Fairs for the community of Oakland for over 25 years not including the two or three Annual Block Parties held at various locations. Community members are invited to “come as they are” and enjoy a wonderful meal, spirit filled gospel singing, entertainment for the children and to listen and receive the Word of God. Free clothing is also available to anyone in need. Volunteers are always needed for this ministry.
Singles Ministry

Through Christ Jesus and by the anointing power of the Holy Spirit, is to become complete and whole individually and as one body united. To walk by faith and not by sight, believing that we are exactly where God wants us to be. To love, exhort, this being to encourage one another, even knowing that our trials and tribulations are building stones to develop and strengthen our characters.
Marriage Ministry

God has ordained our marriages, and our Mission is to encourage couples to realize God's plan and will for our marriages, to love unconditionally in the ups and downs of life, and to love each other and respect each other at all times. We want to encourage husbands to love their wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it, and to encourage wives to reverence their husbands. The Bible also says that whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing,a and finds favor with the lord, and a Godly wife will do her husband good and not evil all the days of her life. These are tall orders in this day and age, but this is expected from us as followers of Christ.
Men of Iron

Men of Iron ’s objective is to mentor young boys and teach them to stand for what’s honest, right and true; to develop their minds, bodies and souls, through the martial arts and a military based program designed to instill discipline, respect, responsibility and structure; to show them other alternatives to violence, drugs and prison; to teach them how to be more productive and less destructive in our communities; to teach them how to better control their anger and express their emotions; to teach them the importance of black history and the contributions African Americans have made to the world. Ultimately, to give them a solid foundation on which to build their lives. Men of Iron is a six month program for young men from the ages of 6-12 years of age. Men of Iron meet from 10 - 12 p.m. 2ND and 4Th Saturdays of each month. For more information, contact Bro. Kenneth McCullum.
